Hello all, my name is Desiree Shoe, and I’m a North Carolina native, currently living in the concrete jungle otherwise known as New York City. I made the move to the big city after a year and a half in Phoenix, Arizona. I’d never lived outside of North Carolina until the summer of 2007. Following my graduation from the wondrous UNC-Chapel Hill, I received the Pulliam Fellowship for graphic design at The Arizona Republic, which turned into a job offer, which turned into what became about a year and a half of sports design in the Valley of the Sun. And now I’m embarking on the next adventure of doing part-time design for the New York Times. It’s incredible to believe that I just turned 23 – life truly does jet by after college, doesn’t it?
This web site exists mostly to serve as a place to keep my resume and portfolio up-to-date, and also a place to stretch my blogging skills and attempt to make some life observations in the process. I hope you, dear reader, enjoy the journey as much as I do.
Please feel free to leave comments and observations, and I’ll do my best to keep both myself and my readers entertained.
